Faux Rust

What the heck are these things?
Any ideas?
I will tell you but first come see what I did with them!

Here they are in all there ugly glory
(and I have more of these, that I need to
find a use for, about 30 more)
I am into rust these days, so I got this faux rusting kit
it is just paint but hey it does a pretty good job.
After some sanding, it was paint time, looking better already.
Next you put this glaze on, it is thin like milk
Blot it off with a paper towel
Let it dry.....it drys fast and WA LA....

Now I have 4 faux rusted containers
even the insides are done.  After KC drilled a couple holes to hang them with

We added them to our coat area, in the pantry, to hold small
items like leashes, gloves and what not......
Note: my walls are really mauve, but the flash washed them out
Here you can see mine, the ones for the other side will
be installed once I get some anchors for them
So, just what are these things, anyway?  They came from a
telephone company,  they were covers for some of their equipment.
NOTE:  My father in law tells me...
"They were used to protect the telephone switches from dust or being hit."

When they updated their system,

they were tossed on the trash heap, KC and his Dad knew
there had to be a use for them, and I finally found one,
just, what.......20 years later.   LOL.
I do have ideas for the others, one of these days.

Thank you so much for visiting, please leave a comment
I love hearing from you.
Hugs and Gods Blessing always

Picture Frame Make Over

Picture Frame Make Over

After last Christmas (2010) I began work on
fixing up my stairwell, which had been
only drywall for several years
You see I have to be "in the mood"
to do things and yes it took me that long.  LOL.
So I got it papered,
and this year I decided it was finally time to get to work
on the pictures.  So in January 2012 I got going
but I did not like the picture frames
that the pictures were in soooo
Out came the paint
and the glaze

to change them up a bit.  To sage green with a mocha glaze.
Much better.
Here it is mid February and I am still messing around with getting
this done.....I know I am slow....or is it I am moody.....
can't get in the mood!

Here are a few more things that will be going in there.
Opps, I already have these up.....tee hee

I have to figure out how I am going to hang those frames
that I just redid, some are sitters not hangers so
I am thinking on doing the brown ribbon like in the little square frames
above.

So..........one of these days.........I will get this finished.
Figuring out how to place the elements can be a bit
overwhelming, hopefully I will get over my
fears and move on to the finish.

My next project includes these
any guesses as to what they are or
what I am going to do with them?
Thank you for coming over for a visit.
Have a blessed day.

Pantry Organization Part 3

Pantry Organization Part 3

Now to the canned food shelves.
I have been looking for a way to take care of the canned
good, other then stacking.
Found these at Pantry Maid
They are perfect, now all oldest cans are at the front
bottom, no having to rearrange all the cans to put newest in the back.
I bought 4, they are about $20.00 each (including shipping) and
are made in America.
You will note in the above picture that some products, bought
by the case come in a nice dispenser box, so
I am using those as well.  It will be time
before I can get anymore or perhaps
talk DH into making me some, not that he has anything else to do.
Grin.

Look how nice that is
Ok, Blogger is not letting me finish this the way I want.
So.........
Thank you for stopping by and seeing my pantry venture.
I had some more to show you but it is getting to frustrating.
May have to consider moving my blogs if they can't get this taken care of.
God Bless you all
