Oh boy am I bushed tonight. I have not been this tired in a long time.
Why you ask. You know how it is fall
and winter is nearly here, well that means time to get the yard in order.
So that is what I did today.
My Pink Saturday post is going to be about some of what I did today and a pink rock.
We have been on our land for 5 years now, building the house
adding on and remodeling the inside (still in progress).
This year we put in some trees and flower beds
and thanks to one of our neighbors we have a nice
carpet of leaves to put over the bare dirt, doesn't it look nice.
I dug a new flower bed today, removed the icky dirt (if you can call it that)
and filled the space with nice top soil, then covered it with some of those
leaves, next spring I will dig it in and plant.
I also put in some stepping stones today.

we live on the edge of the valley in the desert.

This rock is about 18 inches long, by 10 inches wide and 10 inches thick
See the green running through it? Isn't that cool?
We found it up on the mountain, but we have alot of these around the
property, but in much smaller sizes. The green and pink rocks are common here.
Just one more picture of some work I did about a month ago
using native rock to border my lilacs, which are ready for winter (no leaves).

Thanks, Susan. You of all people know what that space used to look like. It is such a breath of fresh air to look out and have trees. I am not sure just yet what I will put there, probably will move the Shasta daisies over to that bed and redo the bed they are struggling in right now (of course the grass hoppers have not helped them). All I know is it has to be something pretty. I want to add two more small beds along the edge and one more larger bed in the center (would like to do a strawberry bed) and then where all the leaves are, grass! My hope is to have pretty flowers all along the edge. We plan to put grass out front of the patio this next spring.......oh how wonderful it will be. Gravel will stay out front and to the side of the greenhouse since that seems to be about our only parking area, though I'd love that to be grass also, but it is to convenient to park, was thinking on putting a hitching post out there to hitch ones steed to and put my windmill at one corner with sunflowers, it would be cute and reminds me of the old west.
