Pink Saturday

Welcome to Pink Saturday. I have to tell you being a part of this blog party has been so much fun.

This week I wanted to share with you a very special set of dishes. These belonged to my husbands grandmother. My MIL was going to give them away because no one in the family wanted them. Well you can see that did not happen, because I could not let that happen. Plus my daughter Samantha @ Three men and a Lady wants then when the time comes to pass them along again. WaHoo.

When we were designing the kitchen, instead of just the average height of cabinets I had Kirk add an extra layer of cabinets with glass doors for all my pretties. This is the perfect place to feature Grandma's dishes. Just below are my everyday dishes in the rack. It sure is nice having a cabinet maker in the house.

Here are some close ups for you. The pink glasses and cups did not come with the dishes, but are perfect with them (DMIL gave me the pink glasses and cups, I know, I am pretty lucky).

A set of blue glasses would go beautifully with this set, too, don't you just love the colors and design.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing Grandma's dishes.

A special thank you to Beverly @ How Sweet the Sound for hosting Pink Saturday. To see more wonderful Pink click on her link, and get a cuppa, and get ready for a wonderful tour of amazing blogs.

One more thing before you go. Beverly challenged us to post a PS blog that was new to us this week, it is hard to decide because I visited so many wonderful blogs so I will pick.......................Design DNA I am sharing this blog because (as many blogs did) I found it hard to leave, I felt so at home, please go visit and mention that I sent you.

Happy Pink Saturday everyone.

Happy Pink Saturday Gail Sweetie...
Oh my gosh these dishes are over the top gorgeous. I cannot even imagine them having been given away as no family wanted them? Thank heavens for sweeties like you. You kept them alive in the family, and Grandma was smiling down the whole time. She knew they would go to the perfect family. What a complete set of such beautiful dishes. Oh sweetie, I so love them, and you cups are just beautiful and they just sparkle in their beautiful place of honor that DH crafted for them. I love your plate holder. That is beautiful, and a dream to have I am sure.

Thank you for sharing sweetie. I so love this post. Happy Pink Saturday and have a beautiful day. Country hugs and much love..>Sherry

Gail, that is some beautiful china and Depression glassware. So lucky to be married to a cabinet maker indeed. Most of my dishes are behind close doors and altering the cabinets will cost me too much money. Isn't PS the best party? I love WW but the pinky friends are so much fun. Take care, blessings, Marta.

This looks a lot like the contents of my china cabinet. I will be posting it on a future Pink Saturday but I'm procrastinating about dusting it. If you are in Wyoming, you know what I mean about dust. Where did you move here from? We are an hour north of Gillette.

Happy Pink Saturday and thanks for visiting my blog.

Blessings,
