Pink Saturday - Quilt & Lynnie

It is Pink Saturday again......what a wonderful treat to wake up to each week.

I really wanted to get around and visit every PS post last week for the birthday party
but alas that did not happen. I visited as many as I could and because I am writing this on
Friday night, I will go a visiting tonight.

This week I have someone very special to share with you, she has
been in my life for a very long time, and is kind of my name sake
her name is Lynne, (my middle name is Lynn)
Lynne is my doll, that I got when I was about 4 or so, and just know
that was a very long time ago.

She is dressed in the sweetest pink dress, that a friend made for me.
I could have made the dress but she loved making doll dresses, so I got one from her.

Introducing Lynne

Lynne sits on my night stand and watches over me as I sleep.

Next I would like to share with you the very first quilt I made.
It is call a stack and whack.
Why?
Because you stack the fabric, cut (whack) across it, then rotate the fabric
top to bottom on one of the half's only, and whack again, and continue the process
until you have the original fabrics in the #1 position again.

The stars were a total accident. We did 16 squares in each stack and two stacks
It was alot of fun and the only class I have taken for quilting.
The black sashing makes it look like a stained glass, at least to me.

I hope you are enjoying Pink Saturday.
To see more wonderful Pinkness, visit Beverly over at

Thank you for stopping by, please leave a comment so I know you were here.

Happy Pink Saturday

I thought right away the quilt looked like stained glass. It's very pretty! And your doll is precious! I had a small doll my mother had given me that she found washed up on the beach when she was a little girl. It was all glass or maybe porcelein now thinking back and half of one leg was gone. I don't know what ever happened to that doll. But anyway, o loved your post! Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend! -April

Lynne is just beautiful and her dress really makes her all that much prettier too. I love your stack and whack quilt, looks almost like a CQ quilt doesn't it. How fun that must have been. I've been want to try it, but haven't gotten the nerve up quite yet. lol
lots of hugz:)

Happy PiNk, Gail...

I love your dollie! I was raised as a military brat..LOL Sadly, my mom did not keep up with all these things that would be so special right not to still have.

Your quilt is really pretty...I've not tried that technique but I love the freedom it allows.

Thanks for visiting with me....have a lovely day,
Stephanie ♥

Hello! Yes I am thrilled that you're joining the Sorority! Very fun! I see your friend Scout watching from the sidelines . . . Scout is my very favorite Bernese ever!!!!! I almost ~ ALMOST got to meet Shelly last fall - until Scout ate something she wasn't supposed to and ended up in ER and we had to cancel! I was sad - because I don't know when I'll get back to Michigan.
Look forward to getting to know you over the coming months! YAY!
Have a great weekend!
